Let me first start off by saying I am not the best Hunter or player in the world. I have just recently come from Ragnaros with my guild <Care> to join Sargeras and progress into Cataclysm as we had cleared all content on Ragnaros and it posed no fun for our guild anymore. I am learning Survival just as everyone else, but I thought I could be of help with my current knowledge to Hunter's who are learning just as I am. The reason I am writing this guide is because I remember when I started Cataclysm on Sargeras, I came looking for a guide and found nothing with great detail so I decided that it was time this section for such an amazing class had one.
This guide will contain information that may help any new Hunter's on the path to enjoying one of the most fun classes in the game. Currently Survival is the best tree available to Hunter's for most encounters inside of Cataclysm 4.3.4 but each is viable to be played and maintain high damage per second output with the current available gear. I will test each specialization as more content is released and update accordingly.

The talent tree I am currently using is this. I will explain why below.

The reason I chose to take Point of No Escape over Survival Tactics is because you encounter more instances where you will need to be using Multi-Shot as well as Frost Trap to help the tank as well as nuking the adds that spawn not to mention trash clearing. Another reason is because you do not receive resists on Molten, for some reason.

Encounters where this may occur are, in instance order:
Blackwing Descent - Magmaw, Omnitron Defense System, Maloriak, and Nefarian.
Bastion of Twilight - Halfus Wyrmbreaker, Cho'gall and Sinestra.
Firelands - Beth'tilac, Lord Rhyolith and Ragnaros.
Dragon Soul - Yor'sahj, Hagara Stormbinder, Warmaster Blackhorn, Spine of Deathwing and Madness of Deathwing.

**Note: This is only if you fire/drop the Ice or Freezing Trap, otherwise it is a useless talent and you should take Survival Tactics.

The reason I took a point in Sic Em' and maximized Serpent Spread over taking two points in Careful Aim is based off personal preference because the overall damage in most fights will be much higher due to the opening ten percent health being shaved off fairly quickly currently with the available progression content (Firelands being only 10-man). I will more than likely change this on bosses with insanely large healthpools like Ragnaros and Deathwing. However, if you want to take the higher opening burst build rather than lengthy DPS - take this one below.

The glyphs you will want will change as content is released, but I will again explain that below after I have listed what glyphs you want.

Prime Glyphs:

Major Glyphs:

Minor Glyphs:

These are currently the best glyphs available to a Survival Hunter Guide. However, with the release of Dragon Soul gear you will obtain the Haste soft cap with your T13 fairly easily and it will cause you to remove the Glyph of Serpent Sting and replace it with Glyph of Arcane Shot due to the amount of focus you generate.

Glyph of Mending is to help sustain your pet in fights where you will be required to heal him since Molten is bugged on certain aspects of pet damage. This is also the reason for the Glyph of Revive Pet as if you do not have a pet, you will lose an insane amount of damage.

Stat Priority is tricky. Personally, I currently maintain a balance between Haste and Critical Strike rating due to being unable to hit the Haste cap which is 2665 but at the same time I aim for Haste before Critical Strike. I will be adding enchant selection within this sub-section as well.

Agility > 8% Ranged Hit > Haste Cap > Critical Strike > Mastery > Haste

The reason you want to be hitting the Haste Cap is to make sure you can fit in 3 Cobra Shots between each Explosive Shot cooldown. However, once Tier 13 becomes available you will want to drop that Haste down to 757 total Haste once you obtain 4 Pieces of T13. Sadly, it will be impossible to go that low but still try to minimize the total Haste at this point by reforging to Critical Strike and then Mastery.

The haste you want is 29.17% (1794 Haste Rating - This is the lowest I got it to without breaking the 1.5 to 1.6 barrier) total Haste to obtain a 1.5 second cast on your Cobra Shot. Once you hit this percentage, it is more profitable to stack Critical Strike or Mastery. Credit to Skiploom for finding out what percentage of Haste you want.

Enchants:
Ranged Weapon - Gnomish X-Ray Scope

Gemming is very easy and straight forward, I will list both the current available gems and the ones you will want in the future once Dragon Soul gems become available.

Meta Gem:
Agile Shadowspirit Diamond - 54 Agility and 3% Increased Critical Effect.

Pre-Dragon Soul Gems:
Red Socket - Delicate Inferno Ruby - 40 Agility.
Yellow Socket - Deft Ember Topaz/Deadly Ember Topaz - 20 Agility and 20 Haste/Critical Strike Rating.
Blue Socket - Delicate Inferno Ruby/Glinting Demonseye - 40 Agility/20 Agility and 20 Hit Rating.

You can socket determining on what you require most. Remember to look for beneficial socket bonuses that will give you that increase in agility as well as another stat for free.

Dragon Soul Gems:
Red Socket - Delicate Queen's Garnet - 50 Agility
Yellow Socket - Deft Lava Coral/Deadly Lava Coral - 25 Agility and 25 Haste/Critical Strike Rating.
Blue Socket - Delicate Queen's Garnet/Glinting Shadow Spinel - 50 Agility/25 Agility and 25 Hit Rating.

Same rules apply from the above gemming.

The rotation is a fairly simple one but I will start with the priority and work from there.
1) Explosive Shot
2) Kill Shot
3) Black Arrow
4) Serpent Sting
5) Cobra Shot
6) Arcane Shot

Explosive is the highest priority in the rotation because it will be your number one damage output. You want to keep this always on cooldown. You will be using Arcane Shot, Killshot, and Cobra Shot as fillers between Lock and Loads procs to minimize dot clipping.

The opening rotation I use is Serpent Sting -> Hunter cooldowns (listed below) -> Explosive Shot -> Black Arrow -> Cobra Shot <Lock and Load Proc> Explosive Shot -> Arcane Shot -> Explosive Shot -> Cobra Shot -> Explosive Shot -> Cobra Shot <Lock and Load Proc> Repeat Prior.

The standard rotation for me is Explosive Shot -> Black Arrow -> Cobra Shot <Lock and Load Proc> Explosive Shot -> Arcane Shot -> Explosive Shot -> Cobra Shot -> Explosive Shot -> Cobra Shot <Lock and Load Proc> Repeat Prior -> Cobra Shot -> Cobra Shot -> Cobra Shot -> Black Arrow -> Explosive Shot -> Repeat Prior.

The AoE rotation is Misdirection -> Trap Launcher -> Explosive Trap -> Multi-Shot until out of focus -> Cobra Shot -> Explosive Shot -> Cobra Shot -> Multi-Shot -> Rinse and repeat.

**Note** If you do not misdirect, you will more than likely strip aggro from the tank unless they are very aware as to what they are doing.

The Hunter ability you should use before the fight begins is Hunter's Mark. Make sure it is always on the target you plan on DPSing.

The Hunter cooldowns you should use at the beginning of the fight are Rapid Fire, Call of the Wild, Engineering Abilities, Trinkets, Potion of the Tol'vir, etc. to maximize how many times you may use these during the entire encounters duration. Be sure to use them each time they are available to maximize your damage per second!

Pet choices will come down to raid composition and players within the raid, as well as what is stackable on Molten itself as well as the base overall damage.

Using a Cat is only beneficial to the raid if you do not have a Warrior, Death Knight or Shaman within the raid.
Using a Wolf is only beneficial to the raid if you do not have a Subtlety Rogue, Fury Warrior, Elemental Shaman, or a Feral Druid within the raid.
Using a Dragonhawk or Wind Serpent is only beneficial to the raid if you do not have a Warlock or Unholy Death Knight within the raid.
Using a Raptor is only beneficial to the raid if you do not have a Protection Warrior or Arms Warrior within the raid.

What pet do you choose when all of the above are within your raid? Make your decision based off the raid members and who is most likely to die, or if you just want straight damage - either a Cat or a Wolf is fine.

Cat provides - Roar of Courage - 549 Agility and Strength.
Wolf provides - Furious Howl - 5% Critical Strike.
Wind Serpent provides - Lightning Breath - 8% Increased Magical Damage.
Raptor provides - Tear Armor - 12% Reduced Armor.

There are other various abilities that are the same as the listed above but these are the most common you will see on Hunter's as they are currently the best available abilities out there.

These are just my personal preferences which I will explain below.

Cat:

The reason I choose Wild Hunt over Shark Attack is that your pet will maintain high focus due to Sic 'Em! proccing often.

Wolf:
The same talent tree and reason as the Cat's tree.

Wind Serpent:

These talents I chose to maximize damage output, sadly though, Wolverine Bite is bugged and does not always cast making it a pet that does less damage overall but still offers the 8% Spell Damage increase when your raid lacks a Warlock or an Unholy Death Knight.

Raptor:
The same talent tree and reason as the Cat's tree.

Non-Donor BiS List:
Head - Ragnaros - Helm of the Fiery Protector turns into Flamewaker's Headguard ** BELOW
Neck - Justice Points - Necklace of Smoke Signals
Shoulders - Majordomo Staghelm - Flickering Shoulders ** BELOW
Chest - Justice Points - Flamewaker's Tunic
Back - Lord Rhyolith/Avengers of Hyjal - Dreadfire Drape/Sleek Flamewrath Cloak
Wrist - Justice Points or Firelands Trash - Bracers of Forked Lightning OR Hide-Bound Chains
Gloves - Justice Points - Flamewaker's Gloves
Belt - Avengers of Hyjal - Firearrow Belt
Legs - Justice Points - Flamewaker's Legguards
Feet - Fireland's Leatherworking Pattern - Earthen Scale Sabatons
Weapon - Firelands Trash Drop or Majordomo Staghelm - Ranseur of Hatred OR Fandral's Flamescythe
Ranged Weapon - Ragnaros - Arathar, the Eye of Flame
Ring #1 - Avengers of Hyjal - Viridian Signet of the Avengers
Ring #2 - Justice Points or Beth'tilac- Splintered Brimstone Seal OR Widow's Kiss

** You have a choice, based off the Haste or Critical Strike Rating you need. However, my suggestion is to take the Tier Helmet as well as Flickering Shoulders with 192 Haste, Critical, or Mastery (depending on your luck or desire) but you can take Tier Shoulders and Shannox's Helmet.

Trinkets are based off of your own preference, the current best ones available are:
Matrix Stabilizer from Ragnaros.
The Hungerer from Majordomo Staghelm.
Ancient Petrified Seed from the Avengers of Hyjal.
Essence of the Cyclone from Halfus Wyrmbreaker.
Fluid Death from Justice Points.
Key to the Endless Chamber from Corborus in Stonecore Heroic mode.

Current Donor BiS:
Back - Dreadfire Drape/Sleek Flamewrath Cloak ** These can be obtained in-game **
Ranged Weapon - Horrifying Horn Arbalest ** Read Below ** OR Arathar, The Eye of Flame
Ring #2 - Viridian Signet of the Avengers ** You can farm this reputation **
Trinket #1 - Vial of Shadows
Trinket #2 - Wrath of Unchaining

The Horrifying Horn Arbalest currently is showing 583.6 damage per second on the coin shop which is wrong, even for Raid Finder gear so be warned when purchasing this that it may not be correct.

End Game BiS List:
Head - Warmaster Blackhorn - Wyrmstalker's Headguard
Neck - Valor Points - Cameo of Terrible Memories
Shoulders - Hagara the Stormbinder - Wyrmstalker's Spaulders
Chest - Ultraxion - Wyrmstalker's Tunic
Back - Lord Rhyolith - Dreadfire Drape
Wrist - Ultraxion - Bracers of Looming Darkness ** Below **
Gloves - Morchok - Sporebeard Gauntlets
Belt - Warmaster Blackhorn - Belt of the Beloved Companion
Legs - Yor'sahj - Wyrmstalker's Legguards
Feet - Hagara the Stormbinder - Treads of Dormant Dreams
Weapon - Madness of Deathwing - Kiril, Fury of Beasts
Ranged Weapon - Madness of Deathwing - Vishanka, Jaws of the Earth
Ring #1 - Hagara the Stormbinder - Signet of Grasping Mouths
Ring #2 - Valor Points - Emergency Descent Loop ** No Heroic Available*
Trinket #1 - Shared Boss Loot - Vial of Shadows
Trinket #2 - Spine of Deathwing - Wrath of Unchaining

** NOTE **
This is different from Molten's server, this is comparative to retail. I compared a planned setup and my current setup has more damage output than what this planner would say. This has only the two buffs shown on the screen, just like in-game as well.

** Note ** All of the above items except the marked one are Heroic quality.
* Bracers are difficult to weigh up as the crafted bracers have more agility, yet Bracers of Looming Darkness from Ultraxion have more secondary stats leading to easier reforging optimization (no haste so it gets you closer to the ~758 cap).

These are the benefits to our class, choose which one you think is the most beneficial to you.

Alchemy - 80 Agility with the use of the flask.
Blacksmithing - 80 or100 Agility based on the gems you use.
Enchanting - 40 Agility per ring.
Engineering - 480 Agility for 10 seconds on a one minute cooldown.
Inscription - 130 Agility and 25 Mastery to shoulders.
Jewelcrafting - 27 stats per gem, maximum of three gems, which equals 81 bonus stats.
Leatherworking - 130 Agility to Bracers.
Tailoring - 1000 Attack Power for 15 seconds.
Herbalism - 480 Haste for 20 seconds, two minute cooldown.
Mining - 120 base stamina.
Skinning - 80 base Critical Strike rating.

Personally, I would use Tailoring and Engineering just for the extra burst damage over the fight when it is needed most. Even then, most of the professions come out to be equal at 80 bonus stats so it is not a huge loss to take any of the professions (except Mining and Skinning).

In this section, I will go through some macros that I use with the explanation as to why. I do not use many macros yet but I will update as the need arises for them.

#showtooltip
/cast [target=focus] Misdirection
This macro will help enable you to have an easier time Misdirecting your target.

#showtooltip
/cast [@targettarget] Misdirection
This macro will Misdirect the target of the person or mob you are currently targeting, allowing you to have two quick Misdirection macros available if you have to swap tanks.

/petfollow [@pettarget,exists]
/petattack [@pettarget,noexists]
This macro will either make your pet attack the current target you are attacking, or pull him back to you.

#showtooltip Rapid Fire
/cast Call of the Wild
/use Potion of the Tol'vir
/cast Rapid Fire
This is the macro to use your cooldowns, as well as a Potion of the Tol'vir that gives you 1200 Agility for 20 seconds.

/script SetCVar ("cameraDistancemax" ,50)
This is the max camera distance macro and it will help you be more aware of what is going on around you.

/script RepopMe();
If you ever get stuck falling the world or unable to release - use this macro. It will save your unstuck on the website to enable you to hunt more pets efficiently.

Every skill in the Hunter spellbook is useful, even right down to the most unused talents. Do not forget to go through your book and read the use of every skill as it will improve your ability to play a Hunter ten fold.

Disengage - Currently one of the best gap closes, and gap making ability in the game. This ability will save you countless times during your Hunter career.

Deterrence - The best avoidance skill, in my mind, currently available to classes as it allows you to take next to no damage from almost any skill in the game if you use the ability at the right time.

Feign Death - You will use this if you happen to pull aggro or a mob randomly targets you. It will save you almost as much as the above two skills will.

Camouflage - This is the best addition to Hunter's in Cataclysm. You can Feign Death and Camouflage right away, enabling you to remain out of combat for a fair duration until you are Healed or until an AoE ability hits you.

Trap Launcher - Ever since The Burning Crusade I have wished for this, and finally it is given to us. This makes our lives as Hunter's so much easier without having to get into a bad position to place a trap.

Scatter Shot - This is useful even in raid content, especially on mobs that need to be interrupted like on the Alysrazor. It may not always work though.

Wyvern Sting - Same as Scatter Shot, it helps you disable a mob that needs to be interrupted when you lack the ability. It may not always work though.

Explosive Trap - This trap, in combination with Serpent Spread and Multi-Shot makes Hunter's the best AoE damage available in the game currently.

Ice Trap - This skill is simply beautiful. Who does not want a massive AoE slow for an encounter where mobs must be kited or killed?

Distracting Shot - Tank is about to die? Save him for a few seconds with this skill and Deterrence by taunting the boss, or a mob off him. Feign Death drops aggro and the mob will run to a random raid member, not the tank like it normally would had the effect of the skill wore off.

Tranquilizing Shot - You will not use this skill that much in 4.3.4 but it is still a good skill to have on your bars for moments where you wish to dispel a buff that a mob or the boss has that is dispellable.

Master's Call - During encounters like Hagara Stormbinder, you can use this skill during the Frost Phase to clear your slowing debuff. It is just an amazing skill, it even removes daze effects.

Widow Venom - This is a useful thing to have on a boss like Maloriak where he will heal if it not dispelled by Tranquilizing Shot or a Mage's Spellsteal.

This completes the guide. Thank you for reading and I hope you will learn as much as I did while making this guide.

Skiploom and I went out to investigate and make certain that all of what I wrote here was correct and I was not leading anyone on or making them purchase an item incorrectly. Currently everything I have wrote is correct and in working condition unless specified.

I hope it teaches you a lot and you enjoy reading it as much as I did typing it.

If you have any questions, comments, etc. I will happily answer them as I see them.

This WoW Tailoring guide will show you the fastest and easiest way how to get your Tailoring skill up from 1 to 450. Updated for WoW patch 3.3

If you want to level your Tailoring, you will need thousands of cloths and cloths are not cheap. You can farm them or buy them from the auction house, if you buy the Cloths you will need a lot of gold. Tailoring is the best combined with Enchanting, because you will be able to disenchant most of the items you make, however an Enchanter friend can do it for you too. Check out my Enchanting guide if you are interested in leveling Enchanting.

Keep in mind, this WoW Tailoring guide is made to level your profession as fast as possible, so sometimes the cloths you will make might not be the best items for your level or they won't be really profitable if you want to sell them.

Tailoring specializations

Tailors of lvl 60 or higher with a skill of 350 or greater now can choose a Tailoring Specialization. Each of these three specializations allow the tailor access to a number of self only recipes and will allow the tailor to make twice as much of one kind of new cloth as a tailor without this Specialization. Each specialization also provides recipes specific bind-on-pickup cloth gear.

* Mooncloth tailoring (Healing): Allows the tailor access to learn the patterns for the Bind on Pickup Primal Mooncloth Set, and to create an additional primal mooncloth at a moonwell.

* Shadoweave tailoring (Shadow / Frost): Allows the tailor to learn the patterns for the Bind on Pickup Shadow's Embrace set, and to create an additional shadowcloth at the Altar of Shadows.

You should make around 20 of these, it depends on your luck. The recipe goes yellow at 430 and green at 440, but you should make these because you will sell them at AH anyway, so you will get most of your gold back. Don't flood the AH, only put in a few bags at once. It might take weeks or even months before you sell all of them. Try to make Bags for your friends, tell them to bring the materials for it.

Per Frostweave Bag:
60 x Frostweave Cloth
12 x Infinite Dust
2 x Eternium Thread

* 440 - 450
When you reach 440 you will be able to make new epic recipes, try to find players who need those epic items and craft the items for them if they bring the materials. You can also continue to make [Frostweave Bags].

I hope you liked this Tailoring Guide, GZ to 450!

So, after seeing a lot of people get stuck I thought I would make a little guide to show you how to leave Gilneas after completing all the quests.

This image shows two things: one the red circle showing where you will probably be when you have finished all the quests. The last quests as I remember are within Emberstone Mill circled with the orange, and the quest givers are where the red circle are. So, if you get no other quests they are done!

So, after you finish them you are going to be confused.

The next thing you should do is head back into the city and towards Cathedral Quarter (This is the part where you blew the Worgens up earlier). The bridge to get into Merchant Square is to the left from where the red circle is in the first image.

The image also shows the bridge as if you were looking at it (it is locked here but won't be when you go to it).

Then head across the bridge north of Cathedral Quarter.

This image shows the path that you will take from the Cathedral Quarter bridge. The blue line is where you have to swim across due to the bridge being broken.

You are heading towards Keel Harbour, the purple blob represents the purple boat which is situated there. (It is a Night Elf boat).

This is a screenshot of Keel Harbour that I grabbed from the internet. The path which is closest is where you will be walking up and the boat you see is the one you will board. The two red blobs are where two NPC's the closest is a complete quest (***) and the one on the boat is Admiral Nightwind, who gives you a quest which teleports you to Rut'theran Village.

-----------------------------

Additional Information:

When you are in Rut'theran Village go to the most southern dock to get the boat to Stormwind. When there, set your Hearthstone in the Trade District.

- Do NOT use your Hearthstone before setting it somewhere like in Stormwind, this can cause problems are require you to restart your character.

*** I am taking knowledge from my time on Greymane realm and when I levelled my Worgen Rogue. If there is something incorrect within this guide please post so I can fix.

7/09/2013

As for now, this guide will be halted so please don't say "OMG WHY IS THE CHAIN QUEST BUGGED UR GUIDE SARKS!" until I can get a hold of how to trigger the chain quest as stated below.

Hello there! For this guide, I will be sharing on how to get Exalted status with Therazane, one of the factions in Cataclysm. This guide is created for new people who are not sure on how to do as title above.

1. What is the Therazane?

According, to Wowhead, The faction Therazane, named after its leader Therazane the Stonemother, consists of all the earth elementals "living" in Deepholm. The story players can witness starts off with Therazane and her elementals being hostile towards all creatures, including the Earthen Ring and their attempts to restore the World Pillar. As time passes, Therazane's lieutenants and ultimately the Stonemother herself will start looking more favorably at the group of shamans and their chosen champions. At the end, a few selected members of the Earthen Ring and their allies will be allowed to remain in Deepholm and continue their effort to bring balance to the domain of earth.

2. So, how does the rep works?

As said above, you will initially be "Hated" with Therazane. It works pretty much like the Sons of Hodir in the WotLK expansion. You will need to do a chain quest in order to soften the hearts of Therazane's lieutenants, and eventually, the Stonemother herself.

In retail, after completing a rather long chain quest, you can actually do dailies in order to gain their trust. In here, you'll just need 3-4 quests and you're done! Awesome right?

3. What are the possible rewards from Therazane?

Upon getting Friendly, you can buy a Tabard to raise your reputation with them whenever you are doing any HC dungeons.

Upon getting Honored, you can buy a variety of shoulder enchants:

- Lesser Inscription of Charged Lodestone - Caster DPS/healer
- Lesser Inscription of Jagged Stone - Plate DPS
- Lesser Inscription of Shattered Crystal - Non-Plate DPS
- Lesser Inscription of Unbreakable Quartz - Tank

Upon getting Revered, you can buy iLevel 346 rings:

- Diamant's Ring of Temperance - Caster DPS/healer
- Felsen's Ring of Resolve - Tank
- Gorsik's Band of Shattering - Plate DPS
- Terrath's Signet of Balance - Non-Plate DPS

Upon getting Exalted, you can buy the improved shoulder enchants. They are the same name (with Lesser changed to Greater), so I won't list them down here.

NOTE: Please MAKE SURE that you have unchecked "At War" with Therazane at your reputation bar. (At least Neutral standing required) Otherwise, you cannot buy the great stuffs from the quartermaster even when you are Exalted with them. This box will always be "checked" everytime you log in, so get used to uncheck that box.

4. How to start?

UPDATE: I have a suspicion that you need to be up to a certain point of time where you spend your time in Deepholm (A.K.A phased quests) where you can finally go to Earthmender Norsala to take up the start of Therazane chain quest. Until I can get a hold of it, this paragraph will stay.

First, do this Imposing Confrontation. You can find the troll lady at the outer edges (Please please read this part! Not inside the temple!)of the temple (try going northwest). NOTE: Please take note that she will appear at 2 different locations, however only one of the clones will have the quest.

Then, simply head to where Gorsik is, dismount and use the quest item. You will have a short chat with him, before you are getting knocked back at a random location. Don't worry, you won't get killed by it. Go back to the troll lady and turn in the quest.

She'll give you Rocky Relations quest next. This is just simply finding Diamat who will help you gain the trust of the Stonelords. He will give you the following 2 quests:

- Hatred Runs Deep. The mobs are a plenty. As for Dragul, you can find him in the middle tent.

- Unsolid Ground. The crystals are again a plenty. Once you collect 6 of them, combine them to craft an item, then head to one of the towers just a little north within the Lorthuna's Gate. Then, use the item. It might not work sometimes, so you need to scout around that particular area until you can get it.

After completing 2 quests, Diamat will give you another quest called Violent Gale. At this point, you should be Neutral with Therazane. (That was at least in Frostwolf. For Neltharion and Sargares, you are one step further to getting exalted with Therazane!) Previously, this quest doesn't work, however there is an apparent loophole that allows you to auto-complete the quest. Head northwest and look for Felsen. (Don't go up to Therazane's Throne! Although he is there as well, you will not complete your quest there.) He is hostile, but supposingly if you can fly around somewhere west of him, an auto-complete quest will pop out. About 40-60 yards from him should do the trick. Try not to fly too far up or you will not be able to tell the distance. Accept the autocomplete, and head back to Diamat.

Your last quest is Depth of the Depths. Simply go to where the quest ender is, dismount and talk to the crystal. Please take note that the crystal is outside the cave, NOT inside!

And you're done! You are now Exalted with Therazane, without even needing to grind rep. Congratulations!

If you are around level 82/83 though, there is an optional quest that you can take, Wayward Child. You can take this from the Stonemother at Therazane's Throne (make sure you have unchecked "At War" with Therazane first), head into The Stonecore dungeon and kill Ozruk. Then, just turn in the quest. It doesn't gain a lot of rep, but it certainly helps when it comes to Dungeon quests.

Also, if you are still at the process of levelling to 85, this is a good chance to continue the chain quest even when you don't need anymore rep with them. Be aware that you can skip some of the quests and still continue with the chain since there are a few side quests that are bugged. Also, it works up to the area where there are bog spores. (Yes, dem bog spores from Zangarmarsh has somehow migrated there. Kidding.) It is the part where another stonelord will refer you to a nearby Draenei ER member that gives a bugged quest.

5. If I'm an inscriber, I can always get my own shoulder enchant that is much better than Therazane! What is the point of getting Exalted with Therazane then?

This will be the question that many inscribers will ask. To answer this question, it is true that Inscribers can enchant their own shoulders. They are better than the ones that Therazane has to offer. But, you should consider the fact that they give iLevel 346 rings to help boost your gear. Also, if you are looking for reputation achievement, this is one of them that you will want to do, even when you are an Inscriber.

Conclusion? While you do not need to be exalted with Therazane, you must get to at least Revered in order to buy their rings.

I noticed a lot of people in the community forums, including myself just last week, asking questions about gear and what plans should be made when leveling on this Server. So I will suggest a few tips which has gotten all of my toons to near-top gear as soon as they hit level 80, allowing my guys to run the instances and enjoy endgame immediately, without having to worry with dead time and depression of not being allowed in runs due to 'Gear Score'.

This is written for Horde namely, as I don't know the issues or zones for Alliance. And for any other case, I play only on Deathwing.

Contents:

III - Levels, Gold, and You
IV - Gear
V - Guild
VI - Reroll

Instance I - Vote Points

Vote points can make and break you. A lot of newer players will spend their Vote Points as they get them, maybe saving up to 20-30 to get some purple item at some random level (often, 20, 40, 60's). Don't do this. Your gear has no real matter. If anything, just buy the cheap stuff on the AH (note that due to the intense economy, cheap rides on the lines of 1-20 gold). The gear you need to be at all effective to get to 80 will be provided through quests, random drops, and the AH (or a friendly donation).

You can technically get to level 80 Naked. This has been done many times, although it can slow you down a bit and many people like to look pretty while they fight. Whatever your persuasion is, DON'T SPEND YOUR VOTE POINTS!!! SAVE THEM FOR LEVEL 80.

### - You can vote every 12 hours. Make sure you take advantage of this if you're serious about playing. This can net you 10 VP a day, this will be very useful to you end game. You'll want AT LEAST 90 VP by the time you hit Endgame. That or be super friggin rich (which isn't too difficult to do)

Exceptions to spend VP on: Frostweave Bags. These cost 2 points each. And can be a worthy buy as soon as you make your toon. This gives you 40 more slots to put items. More items to place, more to sell. Even junk has a price.
Another good spend is Insignia of the Horde (or Alliance). This is a nice little starter trinket for 1 VP that can break any Stun/Fear/Polymorph/Rooting/Snaring effects on you with a 5 minute cooldown. Only needed if you plan on avoiding ganks. This is really 95% PvP.

Instance II - Your UI

When I see screenshots and videos of people who don't use a UI, it blows my mind. Because they usually have maybe HALF of their screen visible, at the most. I myself like to have as much of my screen visible as possible, so I use UI Mods. Or better known as AddOns. You can make your life a lot easier by using AddOns, you can make it even easier by downloading and installing the Curse Client v4 auto-installer. This will allow you to just click a button and the Curse Client will install everything for you, so you don't have to go through the steps of 'installing' your AddOns.

If you don't want AddOns, then that is your loss. If you're afraid of them due to their technical uses, calm down. They're not that difficult to get. Curse.com has a wide assortment of very useful addons that not only help you see what you're doing, but they can help you macromanage your common issues and boost your gold big time. (I have made around 100k Gold [in about 2 weeks of casual gaming] due to a few AddOns helping me out).

Some suggested AddOns?
-Bartender v4 (Allows full customization of your action-bars/menubar/petbar actionbar/totems/stances/vehicle/etc. This includes, size, padding, placement, and disabling certain bars)
-Prat 3.0 (A very simple Chat-Addon that colors posts in chat to identify class, and can do much more if messed around with)
-Auctioneer (Got some gold you're not gonna spend anytime soon? Play the AH. This will determine what items are selling high or low. You can sort things by not only their buyout cost, but their fluctuation of prices and by 'per item' instead of stacks. This is how I make a lot of my gold.)
-Talented (This gives you a massive overview of your Talents, showing all three talent trees at once, and allows you to create templates. A great thing to play with when bored since you can create any 'talent build' in it's fake-talent-tree creator)
-TipTac (A tooltip editor, it allows you to move where your tool tip is and makes it look a lot sleeker. I love my tooltips. A tooltip is what pops up when you hoverover objects in the game, including items and spells)
-Omen3 (This is the most used Threat Meter, it tells you how much Threat Per Second you've developing, along with everyone else in the party, so you know if you can crank up your pace, or slow it down a bit.)
-XLoot (Gives you a much sleeker looking loot bar, along with strong color identifiers to rarity of items)
-Carbonite (If you want to breeze through quests, know what enemies are around, and have a great companion for your navigation, Carbonite does it all. It has a navigation system to tell you what quests are close by, their 'area' and common quest givers and returns. It also will alert you when any PvP players are running amuck. A MUST HAVE!!!)
-ArkInventory (If you want a very organized bag-mod, this is the one. It allows you to set up your bags the way you want. It first makes it so your bags appear as one window. You can then set rules to certain 'areas' of the inventory, so you can keep your Quest Items away from the main bag, or seperate trade-skill items from other items. Everything!

Instance III - Leveling, Gold, and You

The three most important things in WoW, right? Level, Gold, and NUMERO UNO. Well it is important if you want to get what you want, FAST. Heck, you doing this could even help out your party/raid. It may even make you a better person. It will definitely make you a better WoWer, that's for sure, if you continue reading.

If you want to Level fast, you can make 80 in just a few days of casual playing. But if you want Gold too? Well, you may have to enjoy the other parts of WoW to really capitalize. Now note, I am setting the following standards of this guid with Auctioneer and Carbonite addons. Please get these as my techniques can only really work with them.

Zones to Level:
Stop what you're doing, if you're not a Humany-Fellow, get out of Eastern Kingdoms. It's slow leveling. Anyone who argues this is simply boasting. There is a reason why it's called Eastern Kingdoms. Because Ally's play there. So once you get to level 10-20 (you may want to level to 20 if you're Undead or Blood Elf, so you can save yourself the trip to get your Mount. But meh, you can get to 20 a lot faster in Kalimdor). Besides, if you want your Flying Mount discounts, you need Exalted with Ogrimmar. You're not gonna do that by helping out the fleshies on Eastern Kingdoms. So do whatever easy quests are over in EK and get to Kalimdor and begin questing in Crossroads (XRs).

Now if you want to chop the head off the snake of the worry of having enough gold for a Flying Mount and an Epic Mount (you can save about 1k gold doing this), you need Exalted with Ogrimmar, so please, complete the bulk of the quests in the starting areas in Kalimdor. Or, OR! you can come back and probably finish them super fast. You should be exalted by level 40-50 with Ogrimmar if you've done at least 10 quests in the starting area. (When I say starting area, I mean STARTING AREA. Go get those apples, kill boars, wake up Peons with a club, and moar!

10-20 :: Barrens/Ratchet
21-25(28) :: Southern Barrens
25(28)-35 :: 1k Needles/Salt Flats
36 - 40 :: Salt Flats/STV/Booty Bay
(Optional, Badlands, SUPER SUGGESTED FOR MINERS)
41-50 :: STV/Booty Bay/Hinterlands(Great for Herbalists)
(Optional Searing Gorge, MINERS AGAIN!)
51-60 :: Gadgetzan/Wintersprings/Felwood

Now, that guide ain't great, but you should just know to collect all the quests you can and just do them smartly. When I say smartly? Quests are bugged, have slow spawns, and other people are doing them too. So let's say you have a collection quest with a slow spawn? Go do a quest somewhere else in the same zone!

Example: 1k Needles, you get the Wyvern Eggs collection quest along with a quest to collect reeds in the small oasis. You can also get another quest that requires you kill an Elite Panther. Rotate these if people are doing those quests while you're trying to. Knockout those quests, they supply a generous amount of EXP.

Need more help with leveling? Many many walkthrus are supplied. I may make one for Molten-WoW a little later if enough people like my explanations.

GOLD!!!
We all want Gold, even though, wth are you gonna spend it on? You spend it on enchantments! And Slotted jewels! That's right. Well they are costly. You can find yourself pumping out hundreds and often times thousands of gold to get what you want. Right now I have about 10k Gold on my toon, and I feel poor. Wanna feel like me? Well, you may have to be devious.

There is no wrecked Economy on Deathwing! Everything levels out. Sometimes prices spike, but so do things in the real world. I was selling Knothide Leather for 2k one day and the next day it was 500g a stack! That's just how it works. So don't be depressed, get a job! Get a profession. What are the best jobs? To be honest, the best money maker to me is between: Blacksmithing and Jewelcrafting. MAYBE TAILORING. All I know is Tanks NEED good gear and you can give them great armor at end game that they really really need. Is it hard? Yes. Jewelcrafting is the same way. I hate JC'ers, you rip us off. But whatever. Give me your gems.

DO NOT GO INTO A PROFESSION THINKING YOU WILL GEAR YOURSELF AS YOU LEVEL!!! THIS RARELY WORKS OUT. Your gear you can make is usually devastatingly lower than your level and your current gear. You may get lucky and get a piece of gear you can make that is of your level. But more often than not, the gear you wish to make is either too low level, or too high level of items you need to fetch. Like skinning and especially tailoring.

If you want a money maker toon with no intention of being a useful Samaritan (unless you donate your goods) you'll probably want Mining and Skinning. Why not Herbalism? Because I don't care about Herbalism. Sure, end game Veins for Titanium is rare, but trust me, it's worth it. Again, Tanks are the biggest gear whores because THEY NEED GEAR to be starter tanks. And guess who they come to? Blacksmiths who use your Bars of Metal. Skinning because you can kill stuff, get exp, and get their carcasses to sell or donate.

Now, for whatever you choose as your profession, this is where Auctioneer addon comes to use. Just open up the auction house, click the POST tab, drag and drop the item in the box, click refresh, and then it will show you the suggested price to sell something to undercut your competition, almost guaranteeing you a sale. "What if everyone starts using this?!"
A-They won't. B-Doesn't matter.

DON'T BUY BAGS NEWB!

YOU!!!
Alright, sorry, I feel long winded, but I hope I am of help. Finally to conclude this chapter, YOU. You have to understand your limitations and attitude to an MMO like WoW. But thankfully this WoW isn't Blizzlike aka 3rd Job. But an MMO is work, it's fun work though. If it wasn't work, it wouldn't take so long. And in this, you should understand that researching is your friend.

What tools? NOT THOTTBOT. Thottbot is dumb, horribly designed, slow, and has false information. WoWHead.com. Bookmark it, make it home page, donate, do whatever you gotta do to understand that's the place to go for information. Namely WoW based information. If you want classguides, just google it. But you will want to read class guides, even if you're not rolling that class.

Anyways, if you have played MMO's you should already know what you're looking at and what you want.
RDPS/DPS/Healer/Tank, (Ranged Damage, Melee Damage: respectively)
If you're new to WoW or MMO's for that matter, your personality will really develop what kind of player you are. What I have found, each class has a certain personality strapped on, but I won't go through stereotypes. Just know, each one requires a certain amount of perspective and intelligence. Especially in Raids. There is no best class. I can tell you the best aggro class is Hunter. So if you want to steal Aggro, be a hunter. Lol. Seriously. Hunters, stop clicking so fast and breathe.

There is nothing wrong with rerolling. This is a funserver, leveling is fast, so if you drop a toon at 40, don't feel bad. Just transfer over gold. And you still get to keep your VP, BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T SPEND IT, RITE?!

Finally. Are you PvP or PvE? Me, I am PvE, because I like healing and Tanking, and that just doesn't happen in PvP. Tanks get burned down nearly as fast as your lower armored guys. And don't lie and say you don't get burned down. The only thing hard to burn down quicker than usual are feral-druids. Don't be an elitest. I've seen 5k+ GS Platies get served a pie in the face and bucket of urine over their head just as fast as leatherheads and clothies.

Can you do both? Sure, but don't start gearing up for both at the same time. I would strongly suggest PvE first, then jump into PvP. But if you have a ton of VP to spend, sure, start with PvP, hell, you may just stick with it. More power to you. I'll be the Tank getting burned down.

All in all, this will get you to end game with relative ease. (Except gankers, don't worry, you'll be ganking their lowbies soon enough, god knows I do. YEA, I'M THE GUY IN RED RIDGE MOUNTAINS KILLING YOUR PEOPLE! Call me a newb, w/e, it passes the time while I LFG).

Instance IV - Gear

There is nothing wrong with Blues! There is everything wrong with greens! I am speaking endgame of course. Don't walk to Endgame with green items. It's just bad edict. Am I being a GS whore? No, because I ran HC Chains with way lower GS than requested. But I knew better to get suitable gear for my class. And greens are drastically weak when compared to blues and of course purples. I say Blue ain't bad because you may be covered in blue when you start in your endgame pursuit. This is fine, you'll get your Purps soon enough.

What gear is most important? I'd generally say because of the Private Server, this would be constructed into two separate catagories. Gold and VP. VP should be used to get your most rare and difficult items to get. Please please please research the starter instances before deciding. (VH [blah], UK, UP, HoL, HoS, ToC, etc) It will tell you what drops there, so you can save your VP for that item slot. If you're too lazy, then I would say spend your VP on a weapon. I spent 18 VP on my weapon surprisingly enough. You may not be that lucky. Abuse WoWHead and it's filters to find a suitable weapon.

Another thing to think about is crafted items. More often than not, your crafted items cannot be VP'd for. This is to induce economical balance. And I agree with it. (It may not be for that reason, that reason just helps me sleep at night). So crafted items, you may have to shovel a few thousand gold for. But if you have followed my above guide, you should have plenty of Gold.

All in all, you want AT LEAST 2.2k GS by the time you're geared out. I was 2.9k when I geared myself out with AH, crafters, and VP.

IMPORTANCE OF GS: GearScore has mixed reviews, most people hate on it. But I find many of those people are the lazy people who just don't want to expand their gear with VP or what not. I was against GS and currently am slightly against it. I do believe GS helps us have an overview of your capacity. However, some people ask for ******ed GS requirements. Like 4k+ for Violet Hold. Come on now. The reasoning behind this is to get it done with fast. But people are acting like they have appointments. Get over yourself. Either way, have a decent GS to show off and get you into Pugs if nothing else.

(How can I see my GS? You need an addon called GearScore (imagine that).

So again, at endgame, only buy blue items on the AH, find a friendly crafter, bring mats if possible, it will make it a lot easier.

TIP: If you want your gear fast for endgame, find some standard crafted items. And start AHing it from level 50-60 (when you have gold to spend). Track the auction house for DROPS in prices and take advantage. Example? Titansteel was selling 1200g one day, the next day someone was selling 500g each. I bought them out. Put these in the bank so you're not tempted to resell. Do this till you get to endgame and you will save yourself gold, time, and tears.

Instance V - Guild

You don't need a Guild as soon as you enter the game. Hell, I'd suggest against it. Get your feel for the game before you worry about interacting with random personalities. However if you're desperate for help, then whore yourself out to a Guild. Myself, I have a strong issue with edict and when I choose a Guild, I generally don't leave it till it dies.

A guild provides you with a lot. Sometimes it can provide you nothing but a headache. I am currently in a FANTASTIC guild where generally the regulars help everyone out and has an open bank. And most people practice the take and donate policy. (I removed an iridescent pearl, I replaced with a few Saronite bars).

The Guild should be respectful to all players in their Guild, accepting the role they have chosen. At the same time, the player should understand that they should spec to help the Guild out. You a DPS Shammy but they need a healer? Hey mang, Dual Spec. Hell, a good guild will donate some gold to help with it and run you through some instances to get you geared. Help the Guild and the game becomes funner. Also, find a good Guild. This can be difficult. I got lucky.

What should you look for in a Guild? Activity, Population of 80's, and Leadership.
Activity: This really means is it active during the hours you play? There are a lot of foreigners playing. Choose the right Guild. If only 5 people or less are playing when you play, find a new Guild. You generally want AT LEAST 10 players active. A nice chatty Guild is generally a healthy Guild.

Population of 80's: You want 80's, because that means there are plenty of experienced players to get advice from. It also means they may have extra gold to help out. And even bigger than that, they should be 450 in their professions to offer you gear (so long as you supply mats) with no price. This is especially fruitful with JC'ers.

Leadership: If your leader or at least the officers doesn't maintain some welcoming demeanor, leave immediately. You want the higher ups to be offering help, suggestions, and good humor. Officers that treat you like garbage, well, the Guild is crap. /gleave immediately.

Instance VI - Reroll

Rerolling is fun, do it, it allows you to understand other classes. I went through all the classes to level 70 before I chose my Paladin to be my main. Just know, to be successful, you will need to reheat your VP's and have additional gold to support him/her. So what I did when I rerolled a new guy to hit 80, is I roll my Paladin for a while to stack up my VP and gold, and have it ready for when my alt-main hits 80.
